Welcome to Community Presbyterian Church! Each week we are privileged to have new people attending worship for the first time, and we want you to feel welcome among us. Following the service please join us in Teddy’s Hall for fellowship and refreshments.
 
Sunday Adult Education Classes ~
9:00 The Library Class ~ will complete their study of the Pentateuch.
August 27 they will read and discuss various scriptures from the first five books of the Old Testament.
9:00 The Mountain Room ~ “Christian Daily Discipleship”

4:00 pm Bible Study Class ~ Lectionary Study
August 20, Genesis 45:1-5; Psalm 124; Romans 12:1-8; Matthew 16:13-20

Prayer Slips ~ Baskets of prayer slips will be passed during announcement time today. Please take a yellow slip, and pray each day this month for the person written on that slip. Remember that the Lord hears and answers every prayer.

 

Special Office Hours ~ the CPC church office will be closed for the day on Monday, August 21.

 

What Attracted You To CPC? ~ The Stewardship Committee is asking for those who wish to tell them, what attracted you to CPC (in a sentence or two). They anticipate this process to be a positive and uplifting way of sharing some of our best qualities with each other, as well as with our new Pastor. Please collect a slip from the narthax to record your response. You can leave your response in Rocky Johnson's box or email your response to the church office at info@redmondcpc.org.

September 3, 10 am Blended service with traditional communion being served

 

Free Blood Pressure Screenings ~ next Sunday, August 27, in the Wellness Office between 9:00 – 9:45.

 

Lamplighter Deadline ~ The September Lamplighter news deadline is Thursday, August 24, 10:00 am. Articles for publication should be sent via email to: tammy@redmondcpc.org.

 

Decorating Volunteer Wanted ~ Do you like to decorate? Liz Scanlon is retiring from the monthly church decorating volunteer position. If you would like to volunteer for this position, please contact Liz through the church office.

 

Church Flower Garden ~ Please let the church office know if you would like to volunteer for this important position which includes, weeding, deadheading, and love!

 

Men’s Breakfast ~ (Open to everyone) meetings will resume Wednesday, September 6, at 8:00 am in Teddy’s Hall. The speaker kicking off the season will be Jenny O’Keefe, Executive Director of REACH, the organization succeeding Boys and Girls Clubs in Redmond. Jenny is a dynamic speaker. The meal will be prepared and served by the members of the Monthly Men’s Group.  A sign-up sheet is in the narthex. Signups are essential so enough food will be available.  If you have any questions, please contact either Rocky Johnson or Spike Biggers through the church office.

 

Wednesday Night Supper ~ September 13 at 6 pm in Teddy’s Hall. The cost is $5 for adults with a maximum  per family of $10.00. Sign up in the narthex.

 

Backpack Donations ~ please help local students by donating a backpack. You can leave your donated backpack in the church office. The Family Access Network (FAN) will collect them. On Sunday, September 10, during the 9:00 service, we will bless our students, teachers, and backpacks. God is with us always, even at school, so we encourage all students to invite friends to this special event.

 

Cowboy Dinner Tree ~ sign up in the narthex if you would like to ride in the CPC van to Silver Lake for dinner at Cowboy Dinner Tree Restaurant on Thursday, September 7. The van will leave at 3:00 pm. Sign-up deadline is August 25. Please see the sign-up sheet for more information, and visit the restaurant’s website at: www.cowboydinnertree.net  Questions may be directed to Steve Cross through the church office.
